The Jubilee Party has continued its onslaught against the Judiciary, saying they are favouring the NASA coalition in its decisions.
This comes amid criticism from the opposition and the lawyers’ workers’ umbrella body.
The president-led party insists that NASA was using some judges to scuttle the August 8 elections and force for a grand coalition government.
Speaking in Nairobi on Monday, Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and other party officials emphasized remarks made by the president while he was in Baringo.
Accompanied by Majority Leader Aden Duale, Senate leader Kithure Kindiki and Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, the leaders insisted that they will fight back the decision by the court.
“As Jubilee, we will appeal the decision by the three judge bench, particulary on the interpretation of public participating in the procurement of the presidential ballot papers,” said Mr. Duale.
They accused the judges handling the case of having conflict of interests, and showing bias in their decisions.
“We know what it means for a judge to be biased. The consequences may be devastating,” said Kindiki.
President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on Sunday claimed that the judiciary was helping NASA in its scheme to ensure the polls do not take place next month.
They further claimed that the judiciary was helping and favouring NASA in its key decisions.
