Chief Justice David Maraga has reiterated that the Judiciary is prepared to handle election-related cases after the August 8 polls.Maraga, addressing the press on Thursday, said that Judges and magistrates will have to work at night and even during weekends to ensure that the election disputes are resolved to meet the timelines provided by law.

"I will arrange our judges and magistrates to work at night and even during weekends to ensure the election process culminates soonest possible," said Maraga.

He, however, told off politicians who are attacking the Judiciary claiming that the judges and magistrates are politically sided.

Maraga said the Judiciary will not condone threats, intimidation and blackmail from politicians.

Jubilee politicians had asked Maraga to ensure that Justice George Odunga is not involved in hearing court cases brought by opposition NASA by claims that Odunga is related to James Orengo who represents NASA in most of the cases brought before the court.

Magara dismissed the call and said no politician either from opposition or Jubilee will dictate the Judiciary on its service delivery.
