A quantity surveyor accused of killing a university student by dangerous driving two years ago will know his fate next month.
Job Nyongesa is accused of Brian Kiambati, 21, on January 30, 2016, along Thika Super Highway near Roysambu.
The Milimani traffic court was told that Nyongesa was driving on a wrong side of the road before he rammed the vehicle that was being driven by the University of Nairobi engineering student.
The prosecution told the court that the accused was evading alcoblow.
In his defence on Friday, through his lawyer John Khaminwa, Nyongesa said he was not drunk at the time of the accident.
On the material day, the accused told the court, he saw a vehicle being driven on the wrong side of the road before the accident occurred.
Nyongesa, who is out on a cash bail of Sh100,000, asked the court to dismiss the case due to insufficient evidence.
The ruling was fixed on February 22, 2018.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Nairobi that you want Hivisasa to cover? Tell us what is happening by joining this group and have it published.
