Chief Justice David Maraga has dismissed claims that the Judiciary is held up in political partisanship in the country.
Maraga stressed that his team is non-political and does not subscribe to any political outfit.
“I have not heard anything of that kind (division in the Judiciary over politics). The Judiciary is non-political,” said Maraga.
He was speaking on the sidelines of the ongoing week-long annual judges’ colloquium held at Sarova Whitesands in Mombasa.
He said that no judicial officer will be allowed to be allied to any political camp.
“Political parties candidates are fighting for their rights; the Judiciary should hold the country together,” said Justice Maraga.
