Chief Justice David Maraga has vowed to partner with relevant agencies including the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) and the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the fight against graft in the country.
Speaking in a meeting with the National Council on the Administration of Justice at the Stanley Hotel in Nairobi on Wednesday, Maraga further promised to fight corruption to the bitter end, indicating that this will be part of his transformation agenda through his tenure.
“We must have a plan that should be subject to continuous monitoring and evaluation. Each institution must take responsibility for its performance and the culture of buck- passing must end. We must ruthlessly hold each other accountable,” he said
“I am asking EACC and the DPP to collaborate with the Judiciary in this project so that any of these agencies can click and know the status of any case at any one time,” he added.
Maraga also challenged the office of the DPP to conduct indepth investigations and prosecutions to avoid immature collapsing of cases.
