Police in Juja are hunting for a woman who allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife, seriously injuring him, before escaping.
The victim was stabbed on the right side of the chest and was left bleeding profusely.
According to an eyewitness, Faith Mwende who is a neighbour, she heard the husband shouting at the woman. a while later, she saw the woman run out of the house and thought that she was being attacked by the husband.
"I expected to see the husband run after her, but that wasn’t the case. On peeping through the door, I saw the man writhing in pain on the floor and I went in only to find he was stabbed," said Mwende.
Addressing the media concerning the incident on Monday, Juja OCS David Kombe said that the couple is said to have engaged in some domestic violence before the incident. He added that the wife stabbed the husband with a kitchen knife.
Kombe explained that the incident occurred at around noon when the husband, who works at a construction site, is alleged to have come for lunch from work. He supposedly found the wife had not prepared the meal which made him angry. He is said to have started shouting at the wife for not cooking on time.
The OCS explained that the wife who was preparing vegetables using a kitchen knife stabbed the husband leaving the knife in his chest. The accused then ran way leaving the man struggling in pain.
"The man is receiving treatment at the Kalimoni Mission Hospital as police continue hunting for the accused person. I call upon anyone who knows the whereabouts of the woman to report to the police immediately," said Kombe.
