Issa Juma Boy has moved inches closer to succeeding his late brother Senator Boy Juma Boy after clinching the ODM party ticket in the just-concluded party primaries in Kwale County.Issa, who was battling it out with four other aspirants won overwhelmingly after polling 15,307 votes against his closest rival Nicholas Zani who garnered 4,832.However, claims of rigging marred the nomination exercise where Zani was arrested and beaten up by police officers for allegedly attempting to force his way into Mwamanga polling station in Ukunda. Zani however argued he had gone to inquire why his agents been blocked from overseeing the counting of votes before he was ordered to leave the room. After declining to leave the room as ordered by the officers, Zani who is the brother to ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani found himself on the receiving end as he was beaten up by police."I refused to get out in fear that I would be rigged out. The officers had also blocked my agents," Zani said.He asked the Judy Pareno-led elections board to deal with the incidents where votes were burnt.
