ODM party would find it difficult to replace deceased Kwale senator Boy Juma Boy, party Secretary General Agnes Zani has said.

The outspoken legislator, who was first elected to parliament in 1983 to represent the people of Matuga, died on Sunday at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi of High Blood Pressure.

And in her tribute, Zani who hails from Kwale said her colleague’s contributions to the Orange party would be dearly missed.

“His articulate debates in the Senate will be remembered for a long time. He diligently served in Senate committees and was always on spot for addressing core issues with focus and fortitude,” she said.

Zani added: “He is absolutely irreplaceable. He was an avid lively contributor and a defender of ODM party. We will surely miss him as a party.”

Before his election to parliament, Boy served as Secretary General of Central Organization for Trade Unions (COTU), a post currently held by Francis Atwoli.

He will be laid to rest later on Monday at his Vanga home in South Coast with ODM leader Raila Odinga expected to lead mourners.
