Former AFC Leopards midfielder Khalid Jumaan was all City Stars needed to torment the 13-time Kenya Premier League (KPL) in a friendly match played at Vapor Grounds Ngong on Thursday.

Jumaan came in as a sub and helped the Robert Matano side earn a 35th minute advantage by a  solitary goal that saw the match end 1-0 for City.

The young attacker dribbled past the Ingwe defence before he fired a screamer into the back of the net.

Although the Leopards came into the second half with a better intent for goals, the City backline stood impenetrable and forced the match to end 1-0.

"It was a good match, both teams played well, created chances and I am happy we got  the all uimportant goal.  Jumaan's goal was quality but you expect such from him because he's a quality player. We will continue preparing because we want to start the season strongly," said City Stars TM Herbert Kunga.

Ingwe now focus on their friendly against Nakumatt on Saturday 25 February in Machakos.
