Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa has backed the appointment of nominated Senator Agnes Zani as ODM acting Secretary General.
Jumwa said that Zani has the potential to lead ODM following the exit of Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba who resigned as secretary general.
She said that ODM will remain strong adding that claiming that the party will fall are in for a rude shock.
“Senator Zani has the potential to lead ODM to greater heights,” she said.
The Kilifi Women Representative at the same time hit out at members who have walked out of ODM saying that they have committed political suicide.
She said that Ababu and others who have ditched the party are being led by selfish interests.
Ms Jumwa stated that Western Kenya remains Cord stronghold even without Namwamba.
The storm in ODM seems not to be ending any time soon with party leader Raila Odinga scheduled to tour Western Kenya to consolidate his support.
Several ODM members including Namwamba have ditched the Orange party with claims that they are set to join Jubilee.
Opposition leaders have been accusing Jubilee of buying their members to weaken them ahead of 2017 elections.
