Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa has come into a strong defense of media mogul S.K. Macharia following his claims that opposition leader Raila Odinga won 2007 elections.
Jumwa insists that Macharia is ‘brave’ and dismissed those criticizing him as ‘ethnic monsters’ that will be punished by history.
Retired President Mwai Kibaki was declared winner in the controversial polls leading to unprecedented violence across the country in which over 1000 people died and thousands displaced.
“It takes courage and confidence for Macharia to tell Kenyans the truth. He is the son of this nation who wants justice and honesty in the manner we do things,” she said.
“Only ethnic monsters are unwilling to accept the truth and history will judge them harshly. We must appreciate that Odinga has been winning polls but the usual suspects have been doing the unimaginable,” she added.
Macharia has come under immense criticism from leaders mainly from Central Kenya who accused him of ‘charging’ the country ahead of this year’s election.
