Malindi MP aspirant Aisha Jumwa has pleaded with Coast residents to endorse Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in the August 8 general election.
Jumwa wants residents to vote for NASA, saying Raila is the only saviour for Coast people.Speaking in Malindi on Monday, Jumwa said the region will realize economic development if Raila ascends to power on August 8.The Kilifi Women Rep said Coast region has been sidelined by previous regimes and has a chance to regain its glory if Raila wins.“Coast people have suffered in the hands of the previous regimes that perpetuated inequality in resource distribution, grabbing of locals’ land and marginalization of communities,” said Jumwa, as quoted by the Standard.Jumwa said the Jubilee government has no solution to issues facing the region, and accused the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government of using cheap development projects to woo residents’ support.She said Jubilee will not succeed in wooing the region to vote for UhuRuto in the August 8 polls.The vocal Women Representative asked residents to be firm and make wise decisions that will change their lives.Both NASA and Jubilee are fighting for a share of the Coast votes.
