Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa who is gunning for the Malindi parliamentary seat on an ODM ticket has dismissed claims that she has decamped the party amid fears that she will be rigged out of the party nominations in favour of her opponent.

While affirming her commitment to the Orange party on Monday, the politician who has been busy campaigning said she will fight it out within ODM, terming the recent claim that she had ditched the party as mere propaganda by her rival."I am the commander-in-chief of ODM in Malindi. I cannot step down in favour of anyone," she said.Jumwa who traversed Jilore and Pishi Mwenga wards in last-minute campaigns to tilt the nomination scales in her favour, asked the ODM Judy Pareno-led National Elections Board to ensure that the party nominations in the county are conducted in a free and transparent manner.The Jumwa-Mtengo Saturday contest is expected to be one of the most closely contested in the history of ODM nominations in Kilifi County, considering the huge following the two command in the area.
