Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa has slammed Deputy President William Ruto over condemnation on corruption and questioned his commitment in fighting the vice.
Her remarks come moments after the DP challenged Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi to take responsibility over alleged loss of Sh51 million from the county’s accounts.
Speaking in Kilifi Town on Friday, the outspoken MP challenged the DP to divert his attention towards fighting corruption in the national government.
“sometimes it’s ironical that someone like Ruto is busy lecturing Kingi yet he is in charge of a stinking regime that steals right, left and centre,” she said.
“He has no moral authority to condemn corruption since he is also a victim of the same. We have heard a lot concerning his personal life and everyone knows he is not a stranger to matters corruption,” she added.
She defended Kingi saying the county government was working with various government agencies to ensure the culprits are brought to book.
