Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa's bid for the Malindi parliamentary seat has received a major boost following the endorsement by a section of the Giriama Women Association.According to the women, Jumwa is the right person to spearhead their interests once she is elected on August 8.While promising to back her bid, the women who were speaking in Malindi said they will carry out door to door campaigns mobilizing voters to elect Jumwa.They accused Mtengo of failing to live to the expectations of the residents who elected him during the March 2016 by-elections.Speaking during the event, Jumwa exuded confidence that she will edge out her bitter rival and current Malindi MP Willy Mtengo during the ODM party primaries scheduled for next week.Jumwa who preached the gospel of tolerance and peace during the nominations, asked her supporters to desist from violence acts, which she said will taint the image of the party.She challenged her opponent, Mtengo, to also caution his supporters against lawlessness.The outspoken politician further called on the county ODM elections board to conduct credible, free and fair primaries.
