Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed alongside other ODM leaders have condemned an attack on ODM leadership by alleged trained security officers.

A rally attended by the ODM leadership in Migori town, Monday, turned chaotic after area governor Okoth Obado arrived unannounced at the meeting.

After his supporters saw him, they started booing, throwing stones, water bottles and shoes at the podium.

This forced Obado’s guards to fire in the air. Mombasa governor Hassan Joho’s bodyguard was shot and injured. However, the governor escaped unhurt.

Addressing the press over the chaotic rally, Monday, Junet accused the government of being behind the chaos.

“Let Jubilee government know that its plans have been hatched and they will not succeed in threats and intimidations,” said Junet.

“Governor Obado must explain why he chose to disrupt a gathering attended by top ODM leadership. This has confirmed to us that he is still in Jubilee,” he added.
