Suna East MP Junet Mohammed has dismissed National Assembly Majority Leader Adan Duale as an empty vessel that is heading home after the 2017 elections.
Mr Duale, a former staunch supporter of Opposition leader Raila Odinga, has been a fierce critic of the opposition, and often accusing them of destabilising President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
During the homecoming ceremony of Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire on Sunday, Mr Mohammed accused Duale of insulting Mr Odinga who he claimed had played a critical role in picking him from "rearing camels" to the political limelight.
“Sometimes I get disappointed with my colleague who opens his mouth carelessly just to insult the former Prime Minister. He has no substance at all, and I want to promise him that it is either Farah Maalim sends him home or someone else does it,” said Mohammed.
“Mr Duale is never thankful to someone who picked him from rearing camels and brought him to the political limelight. Everyone knows that without Raila, Duale could be somewhere taking care of camels in North Eastern region,” Mohammed said amid laughter from the crowd.
He pledged to launch a political campaign against him in Garrisa Town, accusing Mr Duale of being a political disgrace to the North Eastern region.
“North Eastern people are peaceful people who don’t just open their mouth carelessly. Mr Duale is a disgrace to us, and I am ready to teach him a political lesson. He must respect my party leader. I am tired of an empty vessel like him,” he said.
