Suna East incumbent MP Junet Mohammed has been declared winner of the ODM nominations ticket.

Junet, who also doubles up as the ODM Director of Elections, garnered 14,912 votes, to beat his rival former area MP, John Pesa, who came second with 8,671 votes.

Junet had expressed optimism that he would win the party's ticket to defend his seat, in the Migori county, constituency.

In the primaries held April 24, the lawmaker expressed satisfaction over the results, saying he had trust in his constituents.
