Suna East MP Junet Mohammed has urged Kenyans to embrace love and unity in order to ensure a harmonious country.
Addressing Kitutu Masaba residents in Keroka and Manga towns respectively, the MP said if Kenyans can show the kind of love that people of Suna East in Migori County showed by electing him despite being of Somali origin, then this country could not be talking of tribalism.
"We need a country where a person from Nyanza can be elected to represent the people of central in the National Parliament, or from Coast to be elected in Western," said the MP.
Junet further said tribal politics pulls the nation to colonial period where our forefathers shed blood to gain independence.
"Let's not go back to fight for our freedom when our forefathers had shed blood for same, we are in a free nation and we need to build it together in harmony, if our heroes and herons wake up today and see what's going on we won't please them," claimed Junet was among the Pangani Six and Muthaiga Two for four days over hate speech claims.
