Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has said that his recent arrest was a cowardly act by the Jubilee administration.

Junet was arrested on Friday in Homa Bay and charged with hate speech.

"The state of our nation is exacerbating by the day.It saddens me to say but our country is bleeding from all openings ... This nation is in Intensive Care Unit," Junet said in a statement issued on Saturday.

"The worsening state of the economy is enough to validate the looting of public resources by leaders in this administration ... criminals freely pounce on innocent people ... and they want us to keep quiet," the MP
