Suna East MP Junnet Mohammed has termed withdrawal of security attached to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi as illegal and demanded their immediate reinstatement.
Joho and Kingi, who have been at loggerheads with Jubilee administration over development issues, reportedly had their security details withdrawn, a move that has been linked to their latest feud with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a statement on behalf of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on Sunday, Mohammed also accused Interior Cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery of allegedly implementing illegal orders.
“The Interior Minister and the bosses, whom he picks the illegal orders or whom he seeks to please, should be ashamed and be prepared to be humiliated because they are doomed to fail, “he said.
“We demand the reinstatement of Joho and Kingi’s security details with immediate effect. We warn the government that we will hold it solely responsible for any misfortune and security breaches that may befall the Governors,” he added.
Mohammed also said the two were entailed to the security details on grounds that they are taxpayers and that they are were elected to represent people.
