Former Mombasa gubernatorial candidate and Senator, Hassan Omar Hassan, has allegedly joined President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party.
A photo doing rounds on social media, shows Omar at the Jubilee Party Mombasa branch offices, having a discussion with some officials. It is not clear which day was it, but it is believed it was October 5, 2017.
The politician who is Governor Hassan Joho's critic, is however yet to confirm if he has joined Jubilee.
Last month, Omar resigned from Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM-K), where he was serving as the Secretary General.
He has occasionally been criticising the Opposition's NASA, since then.
In a letter sent to the party leader, Musyoka dated September 6, Omar who lost to ODM's Hassan Joho in the August 8 general election, cited several reasons for his resignation including furthering his studies, reorganising his political career and seeking justice in the gubernatorial race.Omar clearly indicated in the later that he would also not campaign for the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga in the fresj October 17 presidential elections for personal reasons, which he would one day, share.President Kenyatta is slated to tour Mombasa this weekend.
