A presidential aspirant, Justus Juma, has not been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie for the presidency.

Juma who appeared before the IEBC commissioners, Monday morning, to present his documents, was rejected by the electoral body for failing to meet the requirements.

His running mate, Mary Wambui, also failed to meet the cut.

“We've found that the list of supporters as required by the law regulation 18 is not signed, your proposer belongs to Jubilee Party instead of the Justice and Freedom Party according to our records, your seconder does not belong or appear in any party as the record shows,” said IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.

“Your degree certificate is not certified and neither is the certificate of your running mate and your party certificate is not signed by one authorised person according to your records,” he noted, during a sitting at Nairobi's KICC.

“On those grounds as the Returning Officer of the National presidential election I reject your application for nomination as a presidential candidate," Chebukati said, as he wished him well.
