National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga is opposed to the elections date set by IEBC.
On Monday, the electoral body announced that the fresh presidential elections will be held on October 17, 2017.
Mr Odinga has said Nasa was not consulted on the date.
The opposition leader said there were several thorny issues to be addressed before the elections are held.
On September 1, the Supreme Court nullified the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying the IEBC did not conduct the elections according to the dictates of the constitution.
IEBC on Monday said that only President Kenyatta and Odinga will be on the ballot.
Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate in the August 8 elections has opposed the move by IEBC, saying the fresh poll will not be a re-run between the two.
