The news of Quinter Ochieng, the 12-year-old girl who was raped in Homa Bay County, is a sad one.

It wells up our eyes with tears.

It is the kind of news that makes you wonder whether some human beings are normal in the head.

It makes you question their existence and their purpose in life.

Quinter Ochieng, an innocent school going girl, has been robbed of her innocence by a grown-up man who has lived half of his life.

Quinter died and has since been buried.

I wonder what the man is thinking and how he is feeling wherever he is.

That a human beast can exhibit cannibalistic behaviors like that still baffles me.

All in all, the life of Quinter cannot be brought back.

We do not have the powers to bring her life back but we have the powers to make sure that she gets justice, albeit posthumously.

The relatives of Quinter are asking for justice.

They want the perpetrator to be brought to book.

I beseech all Kenyans to rally behind this call to make sure that the man who did this shameful act faces the full force of the law.

His arrest and prosecution should act as a warning shot to those who were harboring thoughts of committing such a crime.

If he is not arrested and sentenced, then it will pave way for more crimes of such nature to be committed by those who think that the Judiciary is a toothless dog.

The story of Quinter Ochieng comes 8 days after a 14-year-old boy was, on 10th April, lynched by a mob in Murang'a.

The boy was burned to death after he raped and murdered a 12-year class, five pupils.

I am not saying that the same should be done to the man who raped Quinter.

No.All I am saying is that the man should be arrested and charged in a court of law.

If no action will be taken against him, then you never know.Maybe tomorrow he might rape another girl.

It could be my sister or your sister.
