Nyamira County Assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko has termed Justice David Maraga's nomination for the Chief Justice post as historic to Gusiiland.

"Justice David Maraga's nomination is historic since the Gusii community has never had a senior appointment as such and thanked the Judicial Service Commission for doing an exemplary recruitment which was not discriminatory on grounds of tribal affiliation," said Nyamoko.

Nyamoko added that the interviews were an expression of how free and fair the recruitment process was and urged the MPs to exercise the same integrity.

"This is a show that there was no bias in the exercise. This is how other appointments ned to be done," said Nyamoko.
