Different stakeholders termed devolution as a success.

Top on their agenda was the doctor’s strike which nearly enters its 100 day.

The council of governor’s chairman, Peter Munya gave a stern warning to the striking doctors to return to work as their consistent cat and mouse chase was straining the country and creating a menace by lacking a coordinated health system.

It was clear that the doctors together with their leaders are ready for anything thrown their way even if it is serving a jail term so long as the CBA they have been demanding for is granted.

The question lingering in the minds of many is whether the strike is justified? Is demanding a 300% salary hike the solution?

According to the Kenya Medical Practioners, Pharmacists and Dentists union leaders, they are adamant that the conditions in which they live in are humble, the menial work done is incomparable to the compensation they receive, while on the other hand, county government is given billions of shillings for acquisition of resources in the public hospitals.

As much as the doctors are demanding for the salary hikes, they are on the other hand urging the government to better equip hospitals, provide more doctors as well as scale up the health budget.

Simplification of government services like NHIF should not undertake tiresome procedures just for a patient to get admission in any hospitals. The public should, therefore realize who is for them and against them.
