The people of Mukurweini constituency, in Nyeri county have raised their voices, by locking out incumbent MP, Kabando wa Kabando. 

In the Jubilee Party primaries held, April 26, youthful A.G Kiai beat the long term serving Mukurweini MP, with huge margin. 

Kabando who has been a strong supporter of president Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee Party, served Mukurweini locals in parliament for nine years. 

He conceded defeat through his Facebook page, saying he misread the political weather. Below is his message: 

''Though Counting ongoing, key indicators compel a gracious concession. Congrats Mr. A.G. Kiai on your winning Mukurweini Jubilee ticket 2017. Thank you the great people of Mukurweini. It's been a pleasure serving you past 9years as your MP; you've now spoken. I was so confident of a triumph; I misread "political weather". Now rededicating my focus & energy to reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta. At all times, God is greatest. Cheers.''
