Residents said this will fasten funds distribution which are taking too long.

Speaking to this writer on Thursday Kabazi residents complained that they had not received the bursaries they applied for at the beginning of this year.

“Unfortunately, children have come for holiday without us receiving any of the cash and will report back to school with no fees,” laments Cecilia Njeri.

Her sentiments were echoed by Benard Muchai who said the deliberate delay by the county government was forcing many people to give up along the way.

“There has been an increase in the number of students dropping out of school due to lack of school fees. Many cannot wait for the cash to be disbursed as it takes too long,” said Muchai.

Kabazi Member of County Assembly Waithaka Mwangi now wants the county government to speed up release of bursaries for students.

“It is unfortunate that the students applied for the funds even before they went for holidays and they are now back without any hopes or word about the cash,” said Waithaka.
