Kiambu County Commissioner Esther Maina has warned Kabete constituency parliamentary seat aspirants against engaging in hooliganism as they conduct their campaigns.
Speaking at Kabete town on Sunday, the commissioner said that the police will not hesitate to arrest anyone found going against the law.
The commissioner asked the aspirants to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner and endeavor to preach unity among residents.
“We will not allow politicians to cause disharmony among Kabete people even as they seek support,” he said.
Maina asked political parties to ensure that their candidates adhere to the laid down rules and regulations.
The commissioner added that enough police officers will be deployed to Kabete to ensure security ahead of the March 19 nominations and May 4th by-election.
The Kabate parliamentary seat was left vacant following the brutal killing of former MP George Muchai.
Muchai was killed by armed gunmen early last month together with two aides and a driver in Nairobi.
