Chege Gitau, one of the contestants of Kabete Parliamentary seat has urged youth to rally him and vote for him in the forth coming preliminary nominations.
Chege, 30, who is vying the seat on JAP ticket, said that the population of youth in Kabete Constituency is big enough to have him clinch the by-election.
“50 percent of population in Kabete is the youth and I want them to rally behind me,” said Chege.
Speaking on Sunday at Uthiru shopping Center, Uthiru Ward, the youthful aspirant said that he would address the issues facing the youthful segment.
“Once elected, I will look into the issues pressing the youth and offer long lasting solutions,” said Chege.
He said that he would initiate tailor-made solutions to the youth, who have been abandoned by politicians.
“I am youth and I know very well the challenges affecting youth, that is why I want to get the seat and work for you,” he added.
Chege enjoys an upper hand over his rivals because of his community work through his Chege Foundation, which has had a mark among many Kabete residents including the youth.
Chege, who is a finance expert, also warned the residents against voting leaders on basis of political grounds.
“I urge residents to vote for leaders with visionary dreams but not political kingpins,” noted the hopeful aspirant.
The Kabete polls are slated for May 19, and the race has attracted bigwigs like former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Ferdinand Waititu and other 23 contestants.
The seat fell vacant after the assassination of former MP George Muchai.
