More than 25 Kabete parliamentary seat aspirants have today been invited to a public forum in Wangige ahead of Saturday's JAP nominations.
Kabete electorates will ask the aspirants what they intend to do for them once elected. According to Senator Kimani Wamatangi, one of the conveners of the forum, the meeting will be important in helping the voters determine which candidate is best suited to take over from late MP George Muchai.
"We want all Kabete leaders and voters to come and ask the aspirants questions. Everybody will have a chance. By the end of the meeting we will have a clear mind on who understands the problems of Kabete people and can offer the best solution as we move forward to 2017,” said Wamatangi in Wangige yesterday.
Wamatangi observed that the by-election had attracted many candidates and that the best way to have everybody listened to fairly and equally would be through such a forum.
The campaigns have been marred with allegations of voter bribery and with some candidates being accused of dishing cash while others were said to be buying cheap liquor for the youths in a bid to win their votes.
