Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has called on security officials in Gatundu North to guarantee security of residents.

Speaking when he distributed water tanks to women groups in Gathokomboni, Mang’u and Chania in Gatundu North on Wednesday, Kabogo said that he has received concerns over deteriorating security in the sub county.

Kabogo asked the police and law enforcement agencies to use the machinery they have to guarantee security.

The Kiambu governor said that every citizen has a right to security.

“Law enforcers must up their game and ensure that locals across Kiambu have adequate security,” he said.

The Kiambu governor stated that the national and county government has provided adequate machinery for police to guarantee security of Kenyans.

He asked the police to intensify patrols and arrest criminals causing havoc in the area.

There has been concerns among residents in Gatundu North and surrounding environments over rising crime in the sub county with Gakoe, Kamunyaka and Gachege being the being notorious areas in terms of crime.

Gatundu North Sub county Deputy Commissioner Daniel Nyamiti had earlier warned criminals saying that they will be hunted down to their hideouts.

He appealed to residents to work with the police as they strive to promote security.

On Wednesday, Kiambu Police commandant James Mugera said that police will not tire up in fight crime.

He warned politicians against hampering efforts to fight crime in the county.
