Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has strongly condemned those pressuring him to account for the public funds allegedly misused in his county over the last financial year.
The governor has confessed his attending the senate committee summons severally but the meetings have never been successful. He alleges that each time he shows up, Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale who is the chairman of the Senate Public Accounts Committee is never there to chair the meetings.
“It means that this committee has something hidden. Is it only khalwale who can ask and determine what the committee will do? I wonder what questions he wants to ask. I also assume that the committee can work without him,” Kabogo said.
Kabogo said that all those talking ill of the counties do not view Kiambu as a success but see only failure. He said that those criticising him should visit the county to see the progress.
He urged the public to ignore information from malicious people who are out to malign the Kiambu county executive.
The governor also cautioned media against reporting negatively but focus on the development of the county.
