The Kiambu boss also urged politicians to desist from hate speech, which he said would 'tear' the country apart should politicians fail to focus on real issues.

"Let us all focus on having peace in August elections. It is pointless to charge our constituents and engage in hate speech which could distabilise this nation," he said in Kiambu on Wednesday.

"Our mandate as leaders is to ensure our people live peacefully and that is the message we want everybody to spread. Elections will come and go and Kenyans must move on anyway," he added.

He tasked National Cohesion and Integration Commission to spearhead peaceful campaigns across the country by reconciling Kenyans.

"It is the responsibility also of NCIC to ensure Kenyans lives peacefully without animosity. I want to see them doing more in terms of reconciling our people," he said.
