Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has warned that Jubilee government could easily lose the 2017 general elections if it does not address corruption.

Kabogo said that runaway corruption in government is giving the opposition major confidence to win the 2017 general elections.

He said that the opposition is likely to use rising graft in government as a strategy to kick out the Jubilee government in 2017.

The Kiambu governor while addressing g worshippers at St Martin Catholic Church in Juja on Sunday, he asked the Jubilee government led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto to crack the whip on graft.

“Corruption could be a big hindrance to Jubilee government in seeking reelection in the 2017 general elections,” said the Kiambu governor.

Kabogo urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to deal firmly with people who are linked to graft. He also asked leaders allied to Jubilee government and who have been mentioned in corruption scandals to step aside.

Meanwhile, Ruiru Constituency lawmaker Esther Gathogo has accused former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru of allegedly trying to cause divisions in the Jubilee government.

The MP said that the move by the Waiguru to mention some top Jubilee leaders into the NYS scam could be politically motivated.

Gathogo asked Waiguru and other key suspects in the NYS saga to face the allegations of corruption individually and stop dragging in other people. She also called for proper investigations into the NYS scam.

The MP who spoke during a church service at the Salvation Army in Githurai said that there is more than meets the eye in the NYS scam and called for further probe.
