Kiambu governor William Kabogo has denied claims of misappropriating county resources as allegedly being speculated by his opponents.
Kabogo claims that his opponents are out to discredit his re-election bid for the top seat in 2017 by speculating rumors.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha on Wednesday, Kabogo said that his government has adhered to all systems put in place to guard against misappropriation of government resources.
“My opponents are out to discredit me but let me tell them that I will not be shaken,” he said.
Kabogo stated his government is among the few that have adhered to financial and procurement regulations.
The Kiambu governor accused his critics of plotting for his downfall ahead of the 2017.
“Not everyone is happy with the development record I have achieved in Kiambu and are working tirelessly to tarnish my name,” he said.
Kabogo said that he will not perturbed by the speculations adding that his agenda is to transform the lives of the people through development.
The Kiambu boss said that he has confidence of being re-elected in 2017.
The governor stated that he is not afraid of competitors who have declared interest in the seat.
“Everyone has a right to vie for any elective seat as provided for in the constitution,” he said.
The Kiambu governor also denied claims that he is endorsing some candidates for some seats.
“I have not endorsed anyone and those seeking seats will have to go to the people (voters) and sale their agendas,” he added during the interview.
