Speaking at Kamirithu polytechnic in Limuru on Thursday, Kabogo said the claims by the MPs are malicious and meant to tarnish his name.

Kabogo said he will not allow some people who are envious of his leadership to tarnish his name.

The Kiambu county governor said he will be moving to court if the said MPs continue to spread malicious rumors about him.

“I don’t run or sponsor any militia group as being claimed by some people,” he said, adding that the only people he has are the Kiambu locals.

“For some people to go around tarnishing my name because of the envy they have about my leadership is unacceptable and I will be moving to court if they continue spreading their malicious information,” added Kabogo.

Governor Kabogo said that he will not allow himself to be intimidated by people he said are afraid of him because of his development record.

He added that he has no time to waste with such people and that he will focus on implementing development projects across the county.

On Wednesday, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa presented a petition to the Senate and the National Assembly Security Committees accusing Kabogo of allegedly operating a militia group.

The MP claimed Governor Kabogo was sponsoring militia groups to intimidate and harass MPs and MCAs opposed to his leadership.

The Kikuyu MP asked the security committees to summon Kabogo over the allegations.

Kabogo meanwhile said that he will not honor the summons of the security committees.

“I am a busy person working hard for Kiambu people and have no time to appear before some people on baseless allegations,” he said.

Kabogo said some MPs were miss-using the privileges of the Senate and the National Assembly houses.
