Kiambu governor William Kabogo has expressed confidence that the voting exercise will be peaceful.
He was speaking after voting at the St Georges Primary School in Ruiru Tuesday morning.Earlier in the day, their was a hutch after Kabogo was not identified biometrically. It forced the Presiding Officer was able to trigger the complementary mechanism through which he was able to be allowed to vote.
“The process is quiet smooth albeit the delay in my case because I could not be identified using the machine. I think the machine is taking about two minutes and then three minutes for the voting so five minutes for every person and therefore we should be done by 6pm,” he said on Tuesday.
“The process is good because even if your fingerprints cannot be detected, once they key in your Identity Card number, all the information pops up,” he commented.
“People should keep peace. Vote and leave just like I have done then go home and wait for the results. This is a process that happens every second Tuesday of August in every fifth year,” Kabogo urged.
