Governor William Kabogo has revealed the source of his wealth dismissing claims of engaging in dubious businesses.

The flamboyant Kiambu governor says that he deals in mortgage, clearing and forwarding, imports and owns a chain of supermarkets in the country and overseas.

In an interview on NTV on Sunday, Kabogo hit out at critics who have been questioning the source of his money.

“I work hard to earn my money and I feel bad when people equate my source of wealth to dubious businesses,” he said during the interview.

The governor at the same time refuted claims that he is super rich. He also dismissed claims of funding expensive re-election campaigns.

The governor said that his re-election campaign spending is above average and not exorbitant as being speculated in some media outlets.

Kabogo’s critics have been questioning his source of money with allegations that the government is linked to drug trafficking.

The flamboyant governor has often dismissed claims of engaging in drug tracking and other dubious businesses.

Two weeks ago Kabogo unveiled the high powered state of the art vehicles for his re-election campaigns. The armoured vehicles are said to have cost him a fortune.

Governor Kabogo is seeking re-election and faces stiff competition from Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu.
