Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has declared he will defend his seat as an independent candidate.
Kabogo lost to Kabete MP Ferdindand Waititu in the Jubilee Party primaries.
Addressing journalists on Sunday, the governor said the decision was reached after major consultations with the residents of the County and his family members.
Kabogo said the outcome in Jubilee nominations where he was defeated by a landslide by Waititu didn’t reflect the will of the people since it was marred by massive irregularities.
He, however, said he will campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
