Speaking when he met Kikuyu Council of Elders at his Kiambu office on Tuesday, Kabogo said he is not opposed to Ruto’s bid come 2022.

Kabogo stated that his statement last week was misquoted and also misinterpreted by the media and politicians.

“I fully support DP Ruto’s bid and claims going round the media that I am opposed to his bid is untrue,” said the Kiambu Governor.

Kabogo said that some politicians were using the misinterpreted statements gain significance.

“It is bad for the media to spread information or statements that they have not clarified,” he said.

Kabogo assured the Kikuyu Council of Elders of his good relations with the Jubilee government.

“I can assure you that my relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto is good and no amount of criticism will change that,” said Kabogo.

The Governor asked politicians to stop jumping into issues they are not sure of. He also asked the media to clarify their reports before publishing them.

Kabogo has been on the sport since last week over his alleged statement that insinuated that Mt Kenya region will not vote for DP Ruto come 2022.

Several leaders in the region came out strongly to condemn the statement saying that Kabogo is not the spokesperson for the region.

The leaders also asked Kabogo to apologize to Ruto saying that his statement amounts to lack of respect.
