Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has claimed that the media was used by some of his foes who want the governorship seat come 2017 to tarnish his name.
Kabogo was accused of stating that Ruto shouldn't rely on Mt. Kenya votes come 2017, remarks that have since elicited different reactions.
Kabogo, speaking to journalists claimed that most Kiambu leaders were against him and wanted him out of the seat come 2017 and they could do anything to bring him down.
He claimed that his speech was wrongly interpreted by the media and he believes they were used by some of those who want to bring him down.
He said that he did not mention about Mt.kenya region not voting for Deputy President William Ruto come 2022.
"My statement was that come 2022 after our president has retired Kenyans will have to sit and decide who will be next to take the seat. That doesn't mean Ruto cant be the one to," said Kabogo.
He claimed that the immediate response of some of Kiambu leaders towards the interpreted statement shows how this was plotted by a section of Kiambu leaders.
However, he said that he will not focus his attention on politics as he has a time frame for development for Kiambu residents.
"What they want is to turn my attention to their petty politics, but that wont happen. I am not campaigning, my work will bring me back come 2017," said Kabogo.
He however insisted that tarnishing one's name was not the way to win the people as he said he could sue for such wrong accusations.
