The allegations indicate that Kabogo gave the directive on Tuesday after opening Ndunyu Ya Matumbi.

He allegedly got a very cold reception from the residents who in no uncertain terms told him off as he was making his speech.

According to a Facebook user who shared the information, Kabogo got furious and ordered that after he leaves, “people be rounded up by the cops...and that was the case in the whole constituency.”

The user said on Wednesday, area MP Ferdinand Waititu (BabaYao) was at hand to bail out almost a hundred youths who were arrested by the cops last night at the behest of the governor.

“We understand it is the political season but no one should have the monopoly to use our security apparatus to punish those who oppose him. This eggs business already had a son of Kiambu spend nights in Msa (sic) prison. Now the same egg business made ppl (sic) in Kabete Constituency spend a night in jail,” the user said.

“We wait for the ballot. We wait for the day to send the governor home,” he concluded.

And in a video that surfaced on Facebook on Wednesday after Waititu bailed out the youths, those who spoke said they will not accept dictatorship in Kiambu.

In the video posted by user Kiarie Wanjiku Wa King'eero, those present also asked Waititu to officially open the market but he declined.
