Outspoken Kiambu governor William Kabogo says August elections in Kenya will lead to a smooth end of Oginga Odinga and Jomo Kenyatta dynasties which he claims has dominated the political arena for long.

Both Jomo Kenyatta and Oginga served as President and Vice President respectively before their acrimonious fallout in 60s.

And their sons President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga are preparing yet again for another epic battle barely five years since that faced each other.

“These elections are important in our history because these families will exit the political stage and Kenya will move on as usual,” he said in reference to Odinga’s and Kenyatta’s.

“Everything has a beginning and an end so we have no problem if they leave. Ultimately, they can’t be in power all the time.”

Should Kenyatta lose, he is unlikely to continue staying in the political arena while Odinga’s victory will see him serve as one term president.

Notably, not of the two gentlemen’s sons or daughters have actively shown interest in ever competitive Kenyan politics.
