Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo is not a happy man; he says the rampant corruption Kenya is witnessing must come to a halt lest the country collapses.
The former Juja MP on Thursday said the best punishment for looters of public funds is to confiscate all their wealth and leave them to die poor.
He made the remark after it emerged that the National Youth Service (NYS) lost a whooping Sh9 billion to cartels after losing another Sh791 million when present Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru was Devolution Cabinet Secretary.
"Tribes do not steal. It is individuals who do and they are known," Kabogo who was responding to a tweet by re-known human rights activist Ndung'u Wainaina said.
"We should take them to a public court and charge them and met out proper punishment and take all they own."
Wainaina in his reaction to the NYS looting had posted a tweet in which he blamed tribalism on the continued stealing of public resources.
"MP Alfred Keter, maize farmers who are being robbed of their sweat are from our tribe. National Cereals and Produce Board officials are from our tribe. Cartels are from our tribe and even the big thieves are from our tribe," Wainaina had said.
MP Keter who Wainaina was directing the tweet to has been the only vocal MP from Rift Valley speaking against corruption.
