Kiambu traders have sued Governor William Kabogo and the county government for charging them license fees for the same business twice, the Star reports
The bars and hotel owners in Ruiru and Githurai, want the court to quash the county's Alcoholic Drink and Control (Licensing) Act 2014.
The group filed an application at the Milimani law court Wednesday, saying the arrangement amounts to double taxation.
The regulation is expected to come into force as from April 30.
This comes after Kabogo lost to his main challenger, Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu Tuesday evening, barely hours after Kiambu electorate cast their votes in Jubilee primaries.
