Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo on Tuesday thwarted Angel Hair Products Kenya Ruiru branch employees planned demonstration.
Kabogo urged the employees to have a dialogue with the management instead of going in the streets.
Angel Hair Products Kenya had called on the county leadership to intervene and mediate over issues of concern.
The employees accused the company of subjecting them to hard labour contrary to the agreement. The workforce further grieved that their salaries have not been consistent yet they have families to look after.
Kabogo who was accompanied by Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo took more than half an hour to calm the irate employees.
“Protest leads to destruction. The best way to solve anomalies is through dialogue,” said Kabogo.
Kabogo, condemned Angel Hair product management for failing to cooperate with it’s employees.
He gave the company two weeks ultimatum to settle their issues.
Speaking during the same meeting, Gathogo urged the employees to be calm as the matter is being solved amicably and soon things will fall into place.
