Speaking in Gachie where he was launching a water project, the governor said that Governor Kidero will have to pay for passing water pipes through Kiambu County. Kabogo has threatened to cut short the supply of water to Nairobi if the county does not pay for it to his government.

“I have told my friend Kidero severally that if he is not going to account for generating water from this county we are going to cut the supply.  We cannot be paying for water that has been generated and passed through our own land. They should be able to account for it or else we punish them,” Kabogo said.

Gachie residents have been without water for years until the county government stepped in.

Kabogo was accompanied by the Kiambu County Water, Environment and Social Services CeC Esther Njuguna who insisted on the conservation of the essential resource.

“Let us conserve the environment and remember there are people suffering in need of water as you have been,” she said.

The residents expressed their gratitude for the project which was promised to them during the campaign period.
