Kiambu governor William Kabogo has said that the county government has set aside adequate funds that will see talent centres and academies established across the county in efforts to nurture and grow talent among the youth.

Kabogo observed that there is a need for talent to be identified and nurtured.

He stated that the county government through the Department of Youth and Sports is running programs aimed at discovering talents among young people.

The Kiambu governor noted that talent can be used to address unemployment that is common among the youth.

"The county government recognises the need for talent nurturing and will continue to support  measures aimed at promoting talents," he during the launch of the Kiambu County Artists Sacco at Ndumberi grounds on Sunday.

The Kiambu county governor urged young people to discover and use their talents to earn livelihoods. He said that county has partnered with foreign and local investors to set up talent centres across the county.

Kabogo said that some of the social problems like drug abuse and crime can be easily curbed if young people utilise their talents.
